This smacks of specialization, and it's unconscionable for a family physician/general practitioner, who should be covering all bases with each patient. But even 30 years ago, certain shall-remain-nameless partners were strongly and shamelessly urging a certain very-dear-to-me person to spend less time with each patient so he could see higher numbers of patients and bill more money.

James, I'm sorry that your doc isn't giving you time to talk about your concerns.

As Shanny says don't take statins, drugs for cholesterol, they are very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.

It's good that your walking is helping with pain relief. I can tell you are a very determined person as sometimes when you post about your walking the weather is very bad but you still take your walks. Good on you!

James, could you ask your doctor for copies of your test results? If you posted them here we may be able to help you with some advice about how you can stabilise your blood glucose levels.

Kind Regards
