My apologies for the confusion - I thought you were referring to our blood profile tool and the graphics it provides for our signatures. Now I see what you really meant!

The blood profile tool looks like a good thing to do also. Thanks! I will check that out also tomorrow. How long has this website been on the web?

Not sure. I've been here since 2009 and it was under new management at that time - just don't know who were the previous admins, or how long they'd been running it. Our moderator Richard has been here since 12/2007, a previous moderator came in 9/2007, and one other member who joined 8/2007.

Perhaps if Richard happens by, he can give us a short history lesson.

Hi Overdrive-

I respect others' advice not to compare meters, though I know several diabetic doctors who have lab-verified the Freestyle as the most accurate (or at least the most consistently so). I hope you got your use of the strips worked out.

I hear what you're saying about the donut, and the most heartfelt advice I can give you is just don't. It's like a drunk having one drink, it'll reawaken the craving. The more you can stick to your new diet, the longer you can stay away from your sweets, the easier it will be. The more you "cheat," the more you'll want to. Your "sweetometer" will adapt before you know it.

Before you "cheat" just remember how valuable and wonderful you are, how much you love yourself - and how much you love your vision and your feet...

Hang in there, I've been diabetic 40 years this year and am complication-free. It's totally doable.

Matthew
