Default Dumping Statins

Has anybody here with heart disease , after MI or having undergone bypass surgery actually ceased taking Statins. I have halved my dosage and am thinking of eliminating them altogether. Since following the LCHF WOE my lipid profile is very good, so I dont really need statins for that. The only remaining factor I suppose would be inflammation. I have undiagnosed hip pains and am aware of the connection between Statins and diabetes, so that I was thinking that it was maybe "time to say goodbye" to them.
Would much appreciate hearing from anybody who has taken this step.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I would see what other risk factors you have -- how is your hs-CRP, for instance?

DH had an MI followed by quintuple bypass in 2002. He had a horrific reaction to statins. Took them, stopped. Took them, stopped. Finally stopped in completely in 2011. His cholesterol tests are all most excellent (as they were before the heart attack). Ditto any inflammation markers. He takes Krill Oil and wild Alaskan Salmon oil every day.
