Philip, good rant. I certainly did not know the safe way to change blood-thinners. Many thanks.

Since I was a child aspirin (even 1/4 of a baby aspirin) hits my stomach too hard. The last time I tried it, years and years ago, I spent 10 hours doubled up in real pain. My fingers bleed when I prick them, I bruise easily...hopefully my blood is not too thick.

"Perhaps the lesson is that we do not yet know how to predict high risk primary prevention patients and that resources and efforts should be focused on how to define high risk before spending more money on trials designed to test an intervention in a high risk population."

Wow. Just wow.

Okay, that is editorializing by the writer.

But, keep this up and they may even start to question total cholesterol / calculated LDL as an indicator of CVD.

walkerwally1 and Philip like this.

My mom is on aspirin to thin her blood. She bruises at the slightest provocation. Sometimes I joke that someone is going to turn me in for elder abuse!
