Default Meds

I was wondering about something and wanted feedback, I just recently stopped taking my actoplus met to see what happens, it's been about 3 days now and my highest level was 114 lowest was 96 I don't drink soda or eat the junk food I used to eat, I have doctors appointment on the 15th should I keep taking the drug if I feel fine? Also I still take my blood pressure med and cholesterol Meds.

in my view if your BGLs are fine without the meds... why take them? But I'm not a doctor. I'm talking from a viewpoint that I feel meds have been unkind to me and caused another medical problem I now need to take 3x drugs for. I've posted about that already & you may have read about my stomach disorder and experience. But seriously, keep monitoring your BGLs and keep record... show your doctor and discuss this with your doctor. I haven't heard of the drug you mentioned, so I'm not sure if it has any side effects? Wishing you the best... let us know how you go.

that reading isn't too bad considering you had spaghetti with your meal. You will find some people here aim for less than 100. But 116 is a perfectly normal level I'm thinking (it's below 126) . I wish I had that level all the time... I have BGLs that can swing as high as 250 during the day and drop as low as 66. (I use the mmoL reading myself... just converted it to your reading). I'm on full time insulin... and I certainly need it.

I am not sure about the Actos but the metformin part of your med builds up in your system. It may take several weeks of being off of it to see the real results.

That's what I was thinking, I think your right I think it will take weeks before I see any real activity or the wear off affects of the drug. But I also wonder if I eat right will I ever or even see a change?
