Qball, I'm new here so I never saw your previous posts, but I'm curious about your post. I gather that you didn't want anyone's advice on lifestyle changes, and that you were willing to accept the consequences.

Now that you've experience a very significant consequence in the form of your stroke, it sounds like you are still feeling that you are not willing to make any changes--is that correct? Then I'm not seeing the purpose for your post. What am I missing?

Can't tell whether you'll get dropped or not, because each doctor is different, but yes, some doctors will drop patients, for various reasons.

Is there any kind of help you feel you can accept? Do you have someone nearby who can help you in any way?

My husband was a doctor and he 'fired' a patient or two because he felt he couldn't work with him and he felt he was doing both of them a favor…hoping they would find one who was willing/able to help them.

My last doctor and I mutually dropped each other. I dropped him because he kept me in great pain for 22 months. He dropped me because I lost confidence in him. It was sad because I really liked him as a person.

You know why your doctor is treating you like a child? Because you're acting like one. If I tell a stubborn child she can't eat six cupcakes or she'll get sick, and then she says "I don't care", eats the cupcakes, and throws up...

We're telling you that you have to take control of your BG NOW. I really don't give a darn anymore what you think, because apparently you think you should just lay down and die. Do you think your family would like that? Your friends?

Our inner "monkey brains" just want to pout, eat carbs, and ignore consequences. Our adult brains have the ability to make choices that will affect our future. You need to take back control from your monkey brain or you'll suffer for a long time and eventually die.
