It's too bad that even after a stroke, you still refuse to seek help with your depression and your diabetes. As was determined in your original thread, there's nothing we can do to help if you are so set against it.

We're always here for you if you only say the word, but if you're posting just to taunt us, then save yourself the time and trouble; we accept that you don't care and we wish you'd leave us alone. Fair enough?

Very sorry to hear of your stroke. My husband is a stroke survivor, and he's shown me something of how challenging recovery can be.

Hope you don't mind several questions:

1. Is someone helping you through the recovery process? Spouse, family or friends?

2. What are you eating?

3. Do you test regularly?

4. Are you taking your insulin regularly?

We do want to help you. First, you must help us to help you.

We can make suggestions, help you find resources, be your bestest cheerleaders ... or ... (when needed) hand out a bit of Tough Love.

At the same time, and at the end of the day ... each and every one of us must also do our own work.

We can get started whenever you wish.

I think the post is really a cry out for help. If not, who would bother going to the trouble of retrieving a forgotten password?

Cry wolf enough and soon the most sincere of cries will fall on deaf ears.

Hi, Q. It's good to know you.. I am so sorry you had a stroke in July. What was it like? Did you feel sick beforehand? How long were you in the hospital?

Your A1Cs are a little high, and I know it's hard to care, sometimes. When things change so quickly in our lives, it's hard to care. We didn't plan on this part of our lives, I guess. Sometimes I think it's a shame we don't get do-overs. But that's ok, because we do have today. And whether you can find the energy or not to care, we are here for you. We'll do the caring for you for a little while. And when you're ready, and I hope one day you will be, we'll do the heavy lifting for you then, too.. It will be easy. But, for now,.. hang out a while. It's good to have you with us... just as you are. Ok?

Hello qball,

Sorry about the stroke, maybe you can pick up some tips and pointers and start to control the beast. It can be quite a challenge at times, but even a small change in the right direction can be rewarding. Best of all, you will start feeling better.

Feel a bit better and you will want more of that. It's what this forum is about.

That was a long wait ... but things can keep on improving for years. How are you feeling now?

I had a mild stroke while staying in rural Southern France and didn't know what it was…thought it was a bad migraine, but self diagnosed it on internet days later. My left side is cold feeling all the time. Got home and saw my primary and am just grateful that he had me see every specialist when I told him what had happened. Grateful to be alive and doing all I can to stay that way. I gladly eat so this condition doesn't become a problem. Hope you can get to this place. It's truly one to visit and I feel so grateful to be here.

Good luck,
