Test before going to bed, at 2:am, 3:am, 4:00 am and waking up, and You might find what time DP is setting in. Mine sets in between 3 am and 4 am and not much that I could do for it. My insulin pump addresses that. I used to wake up to DP close to 200 and delaying eating cause liver dumping until I ate breakfast. I used to get up at 3:00 take a unit or so of insulin and go back to sleep. I get more sleep now with the pump because I don't have to get up to give a shot.

Even when we're overcast, like it is today, the temps still run up in the high 80s. Seems so weird that it's grey out but still steaming hot. Last night at 7:30pm it was still 87°! Good grief!

Yeah, but my weather station said it only felt like 102 then, so I rode my bike.

Lord, I would hate getting up at 3am, 4am, etc. but I get what you are saying.

Currently, I take 1000mg of metformin before bed and 1000mg when I wake up....maybe taking 1500mg before bed will slow the 'liver dump' if that is what is happening....

Regardless, I will check it before bed and if necessary set my alarm for 3am?? Yech!

But, as always, thanks for the support and comments....

I did it one time, over a weekend. That is the only reason my doctor approved the insulin pump for me. I knew it was happening, but I had to prove it to get insurance to pay for it.

111 this morning for me. I had an early dinner, like 5:30PM, then stayed up way late under a tornado watch. I snagged about a 1 inch cube of cold leftover steak before heading to bed at 1:30AM. I had a salad, an entire huge roll, with butter, and about half a sweet potato with my steak at dinner. It came to me with a huge pile of cinnamon on it, (not mentioned on the menu) and I had the presence of mind to ask if that was cinnamon sugar. The server checked, and it was, so he brought me out another sweet potato without the cinnamon sugar. I'd have liked the cinnamon only, but I was sure it was already premixed in the kitchen. And of course I only ate about half a small sweet potato and half my steak and almost all of my salad.

90 for me this morning. Mark, it is officially summer and spring is over. Yeah, it's hot here too. Yesterday was 93 but the heat index was 102. The humidity is terrible, but this is summer for us. I'm just grateful we had the spring we had.

A 6.0 for me this morning. Off to the next day of dental work albeit today they are only removing the plaque and tartar buildup (quite extensive) on my upper teeth. A slight hint of summer is on the way by the middle of next week with temps expected to rise to 23C (73F) and sunny. Albeit that's according to a long-range forecast and we all know how those usually work out.
