111 today morning after a midnight dinner.

Kathryn- I am sorry for your loss. My dog is now 7-8 years (adopted so do not know the exact age) and i can feel the slow down. Everyday when i open the door when i am back from work, i fear there will be one day she will not be there at the door.

Kris- Glad to see you here. You must be new. I read your comment on the post pregnancy weight Do you have tiny babies too

137 this morning.

Kris, I'll be interested to hear what your doc says; I'm not sure if it would be good or bad news to find out your elevated glucose is work-related stress.

Kathryn, I'll add my sympathies on the loss of your cat.

By the way, if you're using Apple, you'll find settings in "Keyboard" that allow you to use keyboards for German as well as any number of interesting languages.

Wally, I very much appreciate your new signature - put another way, I might say that of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most...

153 this lightning filled morning (pretty rare here).

Wally, I'm afraid you are right - after tomorrow, outlook is bleak for more rain for the month of February.

CCD - no kiddos here, only the four legged kind as well as the best niece and nephew in the world (sorry for the brag, but damn I love those kids). I've just always struggled with my weight, even as kid.

GrammaB, I ordered the chocolate praline as well and it is just as yummy.

Tamagno, I've already had some conversations with the doc when I was first diagnosed and doing pretty well with control and she's convinced that it is affecting me in some way. If only retirement wasn't 20 some odd years away!

Although just after tracking for a day I see I am definitely not getting nowhere the amount of fats I thought I was so I'll keep plugging away.

98 (5.4) this morning. We did get rain, over 1/2" so far and it is still raining lightly. Should be out of here by noon and then sunny for the rest of the month. Hope for a wetter March.
@Tamagno,
@Kris, I had to start keeping a detailed record of what I ate in order to get my macro's right and know how different foods affected my bg. It's a lot easier when you are retired but there are apps that will make it easier. One of the benefits of my Fitbit is the log in their on line app that you can list everything you eat and it figures the ratios of fat, carbs and protein. After a while as you save your favorites it becomes quite simple to enter items. There are other apps out there that do the same or similar that help.

Thanks Wally - yesterday I tried using MyFitnessPal but will keep looking and see if there are others that I may like better. Maybe I will look into getting a fitbit, too.

I got the Fitbit to motivate me to get out and move around and it worked. I've had other issues like osteoarthritis of my knees that have made it more difficult but I still walk as much as I can. The online app that comes with it was a bonus and it works so well I have never tried any other. I wouldn't but a Fitbit just for the app but as a great way to track your activity I really like it.
