Ah, Steve- well I was able to reduce my numbers when I was originally diagnosed. But self-sabotage has been my issue.

She just emailed, I'm going to start insulin...

Another 92 (5.1) this hot morning, 101 (5.6) at bedtime last night. Still not feeling well, and the heat in the 90's isn't helping!!

A 97 (5.4) this morning.

One year ago today, quad bypass surgery. Yesterday my fitness tracker says I made 15,713 steps and climbed 60 floors.

222. I think I'm not going to eat out ever again. Steak with butter, broccoli and burrata with olive oil.

Barbara, so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.

Mbuster, sounds like you have had a wonderful recovery from your surgery, must feel great!

I'm off to Quincy for some music and camping at the High Sierra Music Festival, so won't be posting until next week.

Which also means I have to wait another week for the insulin, but am very happy it's going to happen. Thanks again for all your support!

Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

97, Snap Mbuster. 103 here yesterday, "but it's a dry heat" so it's like taking a deep breath when you open an oven door.

5.6 (101) today...

@mbuster, my father had a triple bypass last September so I understand all the effort you've put into your recovery. Like you, he never misses getting his steps in. I think him and my mother compete to see who can get more steps in. He takes great pride in the fact that he hasn't missed a day of getting 10,000 steps in for the past 10 months.

@auntiekris, eating out is an enjoyable experience and one that you shouldn't have to miss out on. Your numbers are quite puzzling though as it appears you are eating very low carb. I suspect the insulin you are going to start taking will help you tremendously which I'm certain will be a huge relief. Good luck with that.

Thanks Edge, my comment about never eating out again was a bit tongue in cheek as was just frustrated with the number after making good low carb choices.

For June, I've been on target with LCHF, but the month of May was anything but. I think my pancreas is just about done. Yes, can't wait for insulin and feeling better.

92 (5.1) this morning. Much cooler yesterday, 93 with cloud cover and even some rain in the fire area which helped. Good news on the fire as it is now 60% contained and the fire fighters have the upper hand. The cadaver dogs have finished their search and thankfully no more human remains were found. People are being allowed back into most of the burned area.
Kris, I am glad you are going to finally get to use insulin. You have had to beat your head into a brick wall for too long. Hopefully you can get back to better control. Sometimes diet just will not do it.
