90 (4.99) this smoky morning, fell asleep in the recliner last night so no bedtime reading. Feeling a bit better today as long as I stay out of the smoke. Maybe sleeping sitting up helped...

92(5.1) this morning. Temps remain about the same, 93° yesterday and it's going to be about the same for the next few days. A bit hot to be walking around in the afternoon but I go out for about 4-5 min. then back in to the cool house.
Plans for the 4th of July weekend are to stay home and barbeque. I have no need to deal with Holiday crowds.

Finally feeling better! I think the cooler temp has helped too.

88 (4.88) this morning. Hectic day yesterday. FIL fell and broke his hip late yesterday afternoon. FIL and MIL live in a cottage in back of our house and are 92 and 93 years old. They do quite well for their age but old bones are brittle. He could not get up and was in pain so had to call an ambulance. Hospital did xrays and determined it was broken but there are no orthopedic surgeons here so he had to be transported to another hospital that is 75 miles away. They were not able to transport him until 3:00AM so it was a long night. I'm sure he will be OK but will have to be taken care of for some time. Some years ago my Grandmother fell and broke her hip and had to have a replacement. It took a while for recovery but she did quite well and was able to walk again.

@walkerwally1 - so sorry to hear about your FIL. Falls are scary things for the elderly. Hope the path to recovery will be as smooth as possible.
