89, I hiked in mountains for 9 hours yesterday and it kicked my butt. Off trail for a while in an alpine area over 10K' hopping boulders up and down steep terrain. I do this regularly but have the right footwear. I tried some sticky rubber soled approach shoes that are quite thin and non supportive and my feet are killing me.

Fasting BG was 76 this morning! My numbers were all under 90 yesterday so I was pleased. Found a site to stream unlimited yoga videos for $5 a month and did the first video yesterday. I've been feeling like the Tin Man lately and I want to regain my flexibility.

Also watched a Dr. Bernstein video this morning where he talked about non-diabetic BG numbers. He cited studies that showed children are usually in the 70s. Pregnant woman after the first trimester are usually in the 60s. Most non-diabetic adults are in the 80s. Interesting.

!146! Oy vey. Dinner at a friend's house who cooked keto chicken parm (no bread crumbs, lower carb sauce) but maybe the insanely huge plateful I consumed plus my four bites of blueberries and whip cream is no bueno.

Ah well, it's a journey.

Barb, fingers crossed you get to stay put and they get the fire under control soon. xo

Papa, I've noticed the Ultra was off when my numbers were much higher. I tested at 156 FBG but the Ultra had said 120. I've rechecked once as my numbers have come down - it was about 15-20 pts lower.

118. Same ballpark despite increasing 1u. Poo.

AuntieKris, forgive me if this is a repeat, but you can contact the company and get a free replacement for that unit. It's obviously off by more than 20%, so non-working.

Thanks Bunjee. I'm just kinda done with the Ultra, as I got another one (I like to have meters at home and at work) and it was off as well.

Maybe I'll take the time to send it back, but truthfully, not that optimistic. Think I'll just stick with my very basic CVS meter that actually gave me the exact same FBG reading as the doctor.

3.4 and 5.3 on rising at a stupid early hour (4am). Sleeping really badly lately. I hate my CPAP. I hate sinus issues. I hate only getting sleep in dribs and drabs: 2-4 hour bites.

[end whine]

OH, cpap can be such a misery. I reduced the sinus issues by turning humidity down to almost the lowest setting.

76 (4.21) this hot and smokey morning, 74 (4.1) at bedtime last night.

The fire is up to 4400 acres this morning 0% containment. The area it is burning hasn't burned in a long time so there is a lot of fuel. There has been one death. They call him an elderly man, but he was 3 years younger than me! (That's depressing.) He had a heart attack while evacuating Sunday.

It is still calm now, but the dry cold front is supposed to pass through early this evening. I just hope the winds aren't as strong as they predict.

Thanks for your comment, Bunjee!

I had reduced it to passover, more or less. Water in the container but heat off, it just was awful, after *years* of being just right. I've had to give up, and instead am using an extra filter inline between the hose and the machine. It helps. So does zyrtec

Bad sleep mucks up the BGL, too.
