The fire is up to 4400 acres this morning 0% containment. The area it is burning hasn't burned in a long time so there is a lot of fuel. There has been one death. They call him an elderly man, but he was 3 years younger than me! (That's depressing.) He had a heart attack while evacuating Sunday.

It is still calm now, but the dry cold front is supposed to pass through early this evening. I just hope the winds aren't as strong as they predict.
Geez, what a horrendous thing. We have been hearing about the fires over here in Oz, and sympathising, seems to me its getting worse each year. At least our lot are doing back-burning again. It does help a bit to get rid of the fuel.

The area that is currently burning was scheduled to be cleaned up next year. Guess another area will take its place on the schedule now. Unfortunately, it is in mountainous terrain with lots of hard to reach areas.

lol Kris, I don't consider myself elderly in the least bit!!!

125. Birthday celebrations this week; so far so good. A little high when I went to bed probably explains the higher number. The other two celebrations will wait until after any bloodwork at endo on Friday.

It's not even 10 a.m. and it's already 80 degrees. I would guess thunderstorms this afternoon.

72 - that's more like it.

Stay cool everyone - wish I could send y'all some Bay Area fog.

Barb, heard on the news this morning that the high winds you received didn't change the fire lines too much, although there were additional evacuations. Hoping you're not part of that!

No kidding! Here on the Central Coast it's mid-60's and that's the forecast for the next 10 days.

78 (4.32) this breezy smoke free morning, 76 (4.21) at bedtime last night.

Well, there is good news and bad news. The good is no more homes have burned and no one injured. The bad is the fire grew to 7,130 acres overnight, still 0% containment. It was 4400 at the end of the day yesterday. The good is the fire is moving to the Southeast and I am North of the fire, so it isn't headed my way. Of course that could change. They did evacuate more people yesterday. The weather is much cooler today with higher humidity. That should help. It is supposed to warm up again by Friday.

Ironically, it snowed last night up near Glacier Natl Park at 8436' (2571.3 meters) elevation. Snow in August, yup, this is Montana!!

105, puzzling with no explanation. I did have 1 1/2 Tbsp of peanut butter for a late night snack. I've not been sensitive to that before.
