Yes, they sent me a photo with both of them down on a knee holding out the ring. Too Cute!

When DD was promoted to Lieutenant a couple of years ago, her daughter did the pinning. She has just been promoted to Captain so maybe again or her partner this time. Happy days!!

90, I'll be happy when I can get my 30 day average this low, it's 95 now. It's cooling off a bit. Mid to high 90's is noticeably cooler than low hundreds.

Barb! That's great news, congratulations to you and your expanding family!

Well ! I got in a hurry this morning because I needed to get blood work done and I wanted to get ahead of the crowd. It worked, I had no one in front of me but I forgot to post my fasting bg, this morning it was 94 (5.21).
I had one of the Relion A1c now kits so I tested today with it and got a 4.7. It will be interesting to see how the lab A1c taken today compares. I have used them before and they seem to be fairly close but I don't think I have compared them with the lab test on the same day.

125. Didn't get my fasting bloodwork done until 1:30, but now that my blood sugar is more normal, I wasn't actually very hungry. A1C was 6.5 (down from 7.9 back on May 2).

Lovely day today. Just a tad humid, but otherwise great. The marigolds got mashed down with the rain the other day, but they are starting to recover.

82 (4.54) this hazy morning, 84 (4.65) at bedtime last night.

Thanks Kris, it is exciting!

Fire is now at 7927 acres burned (about 11 square miles), 15% contained. Still at 14 homes gone and one dead, so that is good I guess. Predicted dry thunderstorms and lightening tonight into Saturday which is not good. They say there may be a few moments of heavy down pours but sadly not enough to really make a difference in the fire.

That is my intention and why I used the Relion kit today because I am curious how they compare. I have used this test kit before and it seems to be fairly close to what my lab tests have shown but they were a couple of months apart so I thought it would be interesting to compare both on the same day. It usually takes a couple of days for me to get lab results so it will probably be next week.

102 (5.65) this morning. Had guests over last night and got a little carried away at dinner but not too bad.

94, my weight has been creeping up a bit. It's been unusually hot here, and hot where I work. I seek refuge at lunch in a cool, almost cold buffet restaurant. I've been there most every day for the last two weeks and probably eating more than I should. Yesterday I became vigilant and decided to change this. I got a small salad to go for lunch, used less fat in my BPC in the AM. I noticed a change for the better in my weight already.
