I would not fret about fasting bg if your in the 80's - 90" during the day. Personally I think doctors put too much emphasis on fasting bg when over all levels are far more important. It's nice to have low fasting bg and we report it like it's a major marker but really your good as long as you keep under your goals all day.

One of the reasons I don't test fasting anymore is that the lowest occurs before I get up, and it rises steadily from then on for another hour or two. So any test done after I get up is just one point along a steadily rising scale and doesn't really tell me anything about my control.

72 - and this after most of yesterday spent in the 140's - so this speaks further to what Wally and VeeJay are saying. I'd much rather have daily numbers in the 80's and 90's instead of the lower fasting number. But. I do get the psychological boost it gives to start the day...

Happy Friday all (even for those of us who have to work this weekend, sigh).

PS: Yay! @Bunjee

78 (4.32) this mostly clear morning, 76 (4.21) at bedtime last night.

I now have 2 big blowers and a big dehumidifier running in my bathroom. They will run until Monday. I couldn't sleep in bed so slept on the recliner last night and I am wiped out today. I have piles of clothing on the guest bedroom bed to sort and donate, but they may be moved tonight. The only problem it is right across the hall from my bedroom and the noise is pretty bad there too. Out here in the living room, it is not that annoying.

At least there was not that much leakage on/under the carpet. The carpet people said I was lucky it was so small.

Maybe, but I don't have any and really don't want to spend $$ for a one of situation. Thanks for the idea though. I may just stuff tissue in my ears tonight and see how that goes.

4.9 last night, and 4.7 this morning. I'm a bit like Veejay, my bgL increases over the day, even if I dont eat carbs, so I am back to just testing when I get up, regardless of time, and during the day around food time, so I know how much rapid acting I need to jab with. It seems to be working. I only lose control when I stop testing. THat is a major factor (for me) in maintaining a semblance of control. If I only test once or twice a day, it tells me nothing. And its why I am considering the hideously expensive Freestyle Libre.

95, better than yesterday's 98. I'm still puzzled by these numbers.
