An 89 (4.9) this afternoon. One night down, three to go.

Nick, I have found my ketone levels seem to drive my BG level. It was always a surprise to see my ketones go up and instead of seeing my BG be low, it went up as well. I don't worry about it so much because I feel it is due to a lesser insulin response. I think the BG staying higher, but below 140, is less damaging than a little lower BG and a lot more insulin in circulation.

Thanks! I thought there had to be a relationship between possibly high ketones and high BG. There also seems to be an inverse relationship between carbs eaten late in the day and FBG the following morning. Extremely low carbs eaten will cause higher FBG levels the following morning with me. It's when I started intermittent fasting often and lowering my carb intake even more that my FBG numbers starting increasing more.

135 (7.5). Have been awol for a while, but staying active with deer hunting season in November and the past two weeks goose hunting, although nursing a sore knee at the moment from jogging across a frozen cornfield after a wounded goose, the proverbial wild goose chase. anyway, good to be back inside a warm house.

Hi Jim, welcome back. LOL at the analogy, but hope your knee gets better. Your retrievers take a day off?

FBG this afternoon an 88 (4.9), three nights of graveyard shift down, one to go. Woohoo.

we have retrievers that do well on ducks, but geese are a totally different game. The dogs can corner them, just have a hard time picking them up and bringing them back. anyway. the knee is slowly coming back to life.

today was 135 (7.5) again. Pouring rain all day, I've spent the day babysitting a couple of smoked pork shoulders that I'm finishing in the oven after six hours of smoke last night. Dinner tonight should be yummy.

Slept late yesterday afternoon, guess that's why I woke early today, up at 4:30. Tested 97 (5.4) walked 10,000 steps before coffee and breakfast and tested 99 (5.5).

FBG an 83 (4.6) this morning.

Another cloudy day, warms up to 70 tomorrow but then cools off over the next week, but nothing below freezing.
