I don't understand how he can maintain a positive attitude like he apparently does.

I took Crestor for 3 years and woke one morning with the most horrible pain. What followed after that was periods of Dr advised abstinence from statins, a "challenge" of taking a new-different statin until I had literally taken everyone on the market at that time. I still have myopathy and who knows what else. And yet they still make me have a fasting LDL test once a year or else the doctor tells me she gets "dinged".

And that 'dinged' part pisses me off worse than all the other crap . . . that the pharmaceutical and insurance industries have taken over patient care from the doctors.

Agree with you 100%. I have often thought of asking the doctor......."just what does 'dinged' mean"? The name of the test that she has done on me is LDL Direct and to me it means nothing because they pick out one aspect of the cholesterol picture and focus on that. I think they want me to leave the practice because I am a diabetic who refuses to take their precious statin drugs.
