Default I Must Apologize

To all my dearest forum friends and fellow diabetics:

It was brought to my attention that my posts that involve my religious beliefs might offend others who are of different faiths. I do apologize to anyone who may have been offended by my posts that include a prayer or my beliefs in general. I am a Christian, and I do not hide that ever. I do however have great admiration and love for others of non-Christian faith. We all have our beliefs, and I do not discriminate against other beliefs or non beliefs as it may be.

So I just hope I have not offended anyone. I posted a prayer and such just because I thought it was a lovely fitting prayer, and wanted to let my friends here know how much they mean to me and that I always keep their best interests and best wishes of great health. I would never try to force what I choose to believe on another.

Hugs to all my friends. Thank you for reading this and know that you are a very important and real part of my life. This forum has given me a place to feel at home.

I agree with Tony...a prayer is a prayer...it comes from the heart and that's all that matters

I missed it, but sometimes I do not care for heavily faith-laden messages. Generally in an institutional venue, not from an individual. Mostly what bug me are: pressure to agree with another's faith; or, in some ways worse, the assumption that I agree with it.

Other than that, it is not easy to offend me!

It is very difficult to offend me. Linda has tried and failed at that I am much more likely to offend you. I like to question everybody's beliefs, especially my own -- I'd call them assumptions, but that would probably offend you. I don't usually trade religious blows, though, not because they offend but because I can't win. I've learned this from trying to tease my son who attends a christian liberal arts school. Likewise, I find religious people often take an unwinnable stance. That's what probably bothers me the most, people assuming I need to follow their beliefs or style of believing and not cluing in that they are only banging their heads. I find it best to shoot for common ground, like I am now, right?

With our country (I mean the US) in so many ways polarized into two camps, I find it all the more important to maintain friendships with as diverse a group of people as possible.

To do less is to feed the fury created by forces trying to manipulate us for their own ends.

I agree with all of you. I would never force what I believe on another. If we have common ground, fine. If not, that is fine too. I guess I just didn't think before posting something that could be misconstrued by others. Duh. But, again, it is from the bottom of my heart (and top and middle) that I hold everyone here near and dear to me.

Thank you for the support gang. You are all sweeties (the kind we diabetics can take in abundance!).

I fully accept your apology but am glad you posted it. I prefer forums to stick to topic and I can get all the prayers, religious beliefs other places.
