Our little man is going home today & is cleared to go to school tomorrow. Just have to keep an eye on him & no strenuous roughhousing. Follow up in a coupla weeks with the neurologist - MRI & EEG at that time.

Thats good news Shanny. Know how you were feeling, our 6mth old grand daughter caught that virus going around and ended up having Asthma attack, had to rush her to ER to get breathing treatment. She just had tubes put in her ears this morning, constant ear aches. Odd thing is this baby never cries, just sits there and giggles all day long, sleeps from 8:00pm to 8:00am with lots of naps during the day.

I am sure glad your little guy is coming home, although there is nothing we can do we worry don't we.

Shanny, so glad everything came back clean on the tests. If it was a grand mal seizure, those are noooooo fun. My youngest daughter use to have petit mal seizures, or otherwise called absence seizures. They started when she was around 3 years old, and were gone by the time she was 10. She would basically "zone" out and just stare at stuff, and would also make rhyming words out of something she heard while having the seizure. There was no medical reason why she had them. They told us that 1 out of every 1000 kids have them for no reason, and that they usually grow out of them by age 16 or 18. They were scary though. I hope your grandson has no further problems with this, and that it was just one of those things. Thanks for keeping us up to date with his prognosis. Still keeping him and you guys in my prayers. Take care.

After he got off the ventilator, Ethan had some visitors during his hospital stay last weekend . . . and his response? "This is the
!"

I thought that too when I was 5 and got my tonsils out. Why? They brought me ice cream - and made me eat it. Oh the agony. Presents and ice cream - I was an easily-contented child

Don't you just love it! Kids are so resilient and positive. So glad to hear that your grandson is on the mend.
