Still a little chilly up here in Canada but we are seeing hints of spring. Last Sunday was definitely warmer and it felt so nice to feel the sun's warmth again. The grass is beginning to get a little greener each day so it won't be long before we'll be mowing it again. I can't wait for things to come alive! So much nicer on walks and runs to be able to do them without freezing and I enjoy them much more than I do the treadmill and elliptical.

Peas are up! I planted them mostly for those who don't have diabetes, but the shoots are nice on salads, too. Dr. Bernstein allows the flat snow peas (pea pods) and sugar snap peas which surprised me but not regular shelling peas. I need to look up carbs to see how that can be.

The kids wanted to "help" so we planted radishes and carrots which they both like the other day. Radishes should be up in a couple of days, carrots take longer.

Spring is gone and winter is back here. Snow was flying again today.

We go straight from winter to summer mostly. So spring was a couple of days and is gone already. Temperatures now up in the 80's. Live east San Diego area. Wish we had a break from the heat because my body thermostat doesn't seem to work on cool when it's hot out.

Everything is blooming now and it's very pretty. I need to get out and transplant a few items in the front garden. There hasn't been a cool day to do so. Will have to shoot for the evening or early morning if it's going to happen.

I love gardening, but when it's hot and the sun is shining directly on me, I get ill feeling. Miss being able to stay up late and do it even after the sun goes down. My energy runs out by 7pm and I'm nodding off lately.

I sure can relate. I can't take the sun or heat, either. Back when I was actively gardening (don't now except for maintaining the landscaping) I would go out at 5:00 am most days and putter in the garden beds an hour before getting ready for work.
