The thing that just "frosts my ***** royally" is that we have poured Billions and Billions of dollars at a totally preventable disease, HIV/AIDS. Those that contract HIV/AIDS do so by choice IMHO.

What we have spent on Alzheimer's Research is a mere pittance.

The reason is that the predominant group with AIDS are gays and they are and have been incredibly organized and vocal. The predominant group with AD tends to be elderly and are much forgotten.

Ruth, I'm not sure I've "met" you here yet, but I would love to count you among my friends that I found here. Hugs and hoping that your doctor finds a good combo and you stay well for a long, long time

I have one major disagreement with you, Tim. Ryan White got AIDS from tainted blood products he took to control his haemophilia. I don't think he had a choice. Elizabeth Glaser got AIDS from a blood transfusion after she haemmorhaged after giving birth to her daughter, who subsequently contracted AIDS from her mothers breast milk. I don't think either of them got it by choice.

...and then there are all those babies in Africa, and the women who bear them. None of those get AIDS by choice.

Neither did people who contracted HIV from unfaithful partners.

Hi, that is so true. A lot of people get AIDS and other diseases from blood transfusions. I refuse to have a blood transfusion. One time I hemmorghed a lot. The doctor thought I was dead. I sat up and told him that I was not dead!! You should have seen the look on his face.

There are alternatives to blood transfusions. They are Ringer's lactatate solution, dextran, and saline solution. They respected my deciscion and gave me one of the alternatives.

A lot of doctor's now realize that and will not give blood transfusions. I have an Advanced Directive and a DVD that explains what alternatives I can have. I give each of my doctor's those two things.

Back to my Health Now Medical. I recieved a phone call today. They are in Sunnyvale CA. I would have to stay there for two days. Then, I can receive help by phone calls.

I have to talk to my husband about it, we might not be able to afford it. I will keep you updated.

One thing I found out about my diet. I ate Corn Chex for breakfast today. It is gluten-free. My hubby looked at the ingredients and found out that it has 2 g of sugar. It is brown sugar. That is bad for my Diabetes.

What should I do?

Ruth
