Cute Kid Cricket,

It's funny - my kids are in their 20s now. My daughter is in the Navy and my son is finishing his last year or 2 at University.

When they were young I would occasionally worry about them when they were in school or at friends - just a normal parent thing to do.

Now they have left and are doing their own thing - my spouse and I are empty nesters - it's absolutely WONDERFUL - but I find myself worrying about them more now then ever before - might have something to do with my daughter being in the Navy Lol.

Being a parent is great - congratulations!

LOL, so true! When my son was a baby I was asked how I was doing. I said, "I'll be ok when he starts letting me sleep all night." The lady answered, "My son is grown and he still keeps me up at night."
I now fully understand what she meant!

Kids are great, I raised 3! They all in turn, blessed us with 6 Grandkids....who was it that said, something like this... "Don't be sad when your kids leave home, they will return and there will be more of them"! That is true, and Grandkids are your reward for raising your kids well! Grandkids can do no wrong...love them all! Here are two of our youngest Grandkids....the red hair is from Grandma...

Here's a picture of my daughter taken two years ago at the Halifax Nova Scotia Pier - she's currently deployed, on a frigate, somewhere in the North Atlantic at the moment. She's a tough kid! I'd post one of my son too but I don't have any of him on this machine.

Jeepers the IMG tags didn't seem to work - hence no pictures - I'll try one more time:

I had to take a double take at your daughters uniform rsfletcher.....she's in the Canadian Navy. You are rightly proud of her. My family is from New Mexico but we have a LOOOONG tradition of family that served in the USN.......

My family - Canadian Navy and US Air force. My Uncle served on an Aircraft Carrier and us Fletchers have been living on both sides of the US/Canadian boarder for centuries, (dual citizens) so we have both a Canadian and American Military History of serving.

By the way my daughter was on maneuvers last year in Florida with the US Navy - she said it was a very humbling experience as the number ships and crew for the US Navy was quite impressive.
