Default Coconut Oil re ALZ

I know some of us use coconut oil to help us maintain a ketogenic diet, but I've found some rather amazing other things it apparently affects...and, the phrase "diabetes of the brain" and I remember someone on the site has been diagnosed with ALZ so this seems more than pertinent to all and perhaps that individual especially...I first found it in print, but here is the series of You Tube videos which I find rather compelling. I'm not sure how many there are, but this is the first in the series...Dr. Newport's effective work on memory loss and Alzheimer's with coconut oil- Part I - YouTube

Hope this helps...

Well I am not a big fan of "miracle foods," but if there is one, coconut may wel lbe it.

I think I've seen one of these videos, but didn't realize there was a series. Thanks, Pat!

Thanks, Pat. It was a link from here to another YouTube video that was the turning point for my sister. She researched coconut oil and Alzheimer's (our father died in 1990 after being institutionalised for a couple of years with Alzheimer's) and has started reducing carbs and taking coconut oil. However, she does say that all searches lead back to this particular doctor and her husband.

Not quite all. Try "Dr. Veech" and "NIH". Unfortunately, he only wants to develop a ketone "pill" from which someone can make money, but has discovered many of the same things along the way. Also, searching "diabetes type 3" may yield some other results.

With a grandparent and a parent both dead from Alzheimer's, I'm taking this very seriously. The "type 3" theory is very compelling and I think is the best explanation of ALZ to date.
