now that's the real spirit, cricket. got home, got my roady out, went up the first least hill from my house. adjusted seat up three times before it started getting good to me. what a difference an inch makes. rode back to house and adjusted the seat rearward. i'm going to a flat parking lot tomorrow to learn how to ride bike again. i feel like a baby. on descent i did get to riding it like a bike. was a bit hairy trying to steer, then i remembered that you don't steer with the handlebars consciously, so then i started hold a line easily instead of wobbly. rolled up the hill pretty easy after a few height adjustments. i gots no confidence for downhill that is certain. i think this bird will really fly. baby steppin' !

I had to get my walk time done quickly today because I was blessed to spend the afternoon and early evening with my grandson.

I have a 2.5 mile open run (race) tomorrow at 9:00am...

I'll let everyone know how I did. Should have pics too.

Just now getting my step goal in. Hmmm, I'm thinking the higher my goal, the more subconsciously I walk throughout the day. At the end of the day, I think its as hard or harder, to make 10,000 vs 15,000 steps.

Now its time for bed.

ran an open run sponsored by the road runners club for a 2.5 mile run in 23:43 . If it wasnt for a really bad pain in my hip (bursitis?) i could have done better but it was about the same as I do in the gym on a treadmill (6 miles an hour)

hftmrock, be happy you can run at any speed. i can't run a lick. i took my roadie out to a church parking lot and adjusted the seat up another 3/4 inch saddle back as far as it will go. it feels good. rode up the hill by the church twice, only trouble is remembering which way to shift. that sucked trying to drop a front ring and going up one instead. i think now it is just a matter of putting my time in, the steering is so sensitive. got home and found out the shop i got the bike from hadn't done a very good job of going over the brakes. of course i got lucky, but i should know better than to trust anyone but me with my bike. had a brand new one once didn't check it did a header and bent the forks when a front block turned. i don't let anyone around my motorcycle, what am i thinking not checking some other mechanic's work?

think i'll do another ten on the stationary tonight. i wondered if it had been a waste of my time. that is until i got the seat adjusted. now it feels right with the legs instead of as if i was doing heavy squats.

The reason active time seems low (compared to steps taken) is because it automatically detects this number based on time. As an example walking starts counting as exercise after 10 minutes (based on settings) of continuous walking. Today I started and stopped a lot because I went shopping with my granddaughters.
