OK. That is way off. Wonder if it was defective. Anyway, you have a method on which you can rely. That's what counts.

I had a Fitbit and a Garmin and my iPhone has a step counter. I would get different numbers on all 3 of them. The Fitbit and Garmin would always have the most steps at the end of the day, and would be a toss up of which one had more. My phone was always in my right picket of my bib overalls, and the Fitbit One was clipped on the left bib pocket, the Garmin on the left wrist. None were ever off more than a couple of steps when I counted a fixed amount, but could be off by several hundred from each other by the end of the day.

My Fitbit One finally crashed after too many trips thru the washer and dryer. My only thing against Fitbit was that you could not delete notifications that it sent you via its app. When my One died, I just said the heck with it for that reason. I mainly had it because others in the family had Fitbits and we could compete with each other on steps made for a week or weekend.

Me and BH have gotten Apple Watches for Christmas. Haven't passed judgement on it yet. It doesn't do step counts you can see but you can add an app to do that, but the one I downloaded still doesn't do a live step count that you can see as you take each step. The watches priorities lie in that you get up and move around every hour, do 30 minutes of exercise each day, and that you burn a certain amount of calories when you are up and about and exercising.

I am very happy with my Fitbit. Do you set your stride?

I better be getting more miles in on the bike the next 7 days. I am planning to ride on a 60 mile ride next weekend. It is part of what is called the Freeze Your ***** ride in Longview, Texas.

Since I live in a location which will see an air temperature of -15 to -20 degrees F next week, it's hard for me to understand that anything in Texas can be frozen without the aid of mechanical refrigeration.

Ob exercise: spent more than an hour and a half yesterday out in the single digits shoveling a couple of inches of powdery snow for four properties I'm responsible for this week. The rest of the day was spent nursing a sinus infection.

You have to understand that some of us get cold when it falls below 72 degrees. LOLOL

Longview is quite a bit NE of me though.

We also have the fallback excuse of blaming the humidity for it feeling much colder than the actual temperature.

We do the same thing inversely for how hot it is in the summer. LOL
