It was a stunningly beautiful day for a hike down at the creek. (83 degrees today.) Spending time in nature is my favorite way to get moving.

Sometimes my job makes me have to be very active and sometimes it requires me to use more brain than brawn. Last night was more of the latter. I was 200 steps short of reaching my daily step goal. That was a good 74 day streak and 14,900 steps yesterday ain't too shabby.

When you've lost the race with the sunset, you have 2,000+ steps to go and ya can't bear the thought of climbing on the treadmill, you will find some light somewhere...

Good grief! I have been "off my game" all day today, but I hit my minimum.

Not sure if the bubble was busted when the string was broken, but got under my goal for today. But still a good day with 11,302 steps.

Took advantage of not being able to do anything else due to the rain. Already had 5-6,000 steps in when I got up.

5 mi. 16:37. when i started in sept. i ground it out at level 4 for 69 average watts. i was happy to go it in 20-21 minutes. tonight i turned in at level 9 for 117 average watts. i've a ways to go but, i am so encouraged. i am so surprised how my body is responding.

for hftmrock, my weight training is upper body only. i was told not to do legs in rehab years ago. i really messed them up about 3 years ago, that and arthritis in the knees. the bike gave me my legs back. that and it just happens to be legs are the best weapon against insulin resistance. my routine is:

iso curls, reverse curls(great offense against hand crushers) incline, decline and regular bench press. push downs, wide pulldowns, reverse pulldowns, military press, resisted crunch, resisted oblique crunch and rows.

as i approach max weights my weekly intervals will change according to recovery time.

i find the bike nice 'cause i can ride about everyday without penalty. gives me something positive to do for me for that day. i think its is great to map my aerobic progress as well. i have my own lab and lab rat.

Following a stormy morning, it was cold (as far as Texans are concerned) and windy tonight, so a little over a mile of this was at the gym. (I get seriously cold when it starts to fall below 70 and it was like 55 degrees.)
