I am really proud of my results today, not because they are all that great, because they really aren't, but because I absolutely did NOT feel like walking when I got done with work today. It took all of my willpower to put my shoes on and head out the door. Of course, once I was out there, all the stress of the day began to melt away. Getting outdoors always puts my mind at ease...

I know the feeling Cricket, getting started on work days is not negotiable, but off days and after work is sometime very difficult. I find, like you, if you can get started, it gets easier and the steps pass by. I just wish there was some carry over of that feeling to the next day, but no, back to step one again.

Got my almost 15,000 steps in today. Probably will tomorrow too since I'm working, but going to take off the Fitbit for a while. My grandkids are doing a Fitbit daily challenge and my Garmin is calling for 14,637 steps. I guess nobody but PawPaw needs to know what happened.

I almost ran out of time to finish tonight! It was getting dark so I finished up my steps at the local shopping center. LOLOL

Getting your steps in doesn't have to feel like work. Find a place that makes your heart sing (I love the trails at my local park.) and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Or heck, just turn the music up and dance!

Well, they all beat Pawpaw on the Fitbit daily challenge. Yep, I finished last place.

I'm at 57 consecutive days of making my daily steps goal on my Garmin. Todays goal is 14,725 steps and I got a little over 6,000 of them out of the way already. Will have to get the rest after a short nap.

86 Minutes In The Life of a Crazy Cricket

Conversation with my inner voice...

Inner Voice: Ummm... Hello? It's getting late. Don't you have some steps to do?

Me: It is COLD out there!

Inner Voice: And?

Me: And, well... I have a sore throat!

Inner Voice: Are your legs broken?

Me: [insert $5 worth of profanity for the cuss jar.]

Inner voice: Hey, it's your decision. I just didn't think you were a quitter.

Me: (While tying my shoes.) I really don't like you.

Inner Voice: As long as ya keep putting one foot in front of the other, I don't much care if ya like me or not.

Me: Oh my gosh, it is SERIOUSLY cold out here.

Inner Voice: You would warm up if ya jogged.

Me: [insert another $5 worth of profanity for the cuss jar and cranking up the tunes so I can't hear the inner voice]

Inner Voice: Hahahaha! Are you listening to " If You're Going Through Hell"?

Me: Do you ever shut up?

Inner Voice: Your fitness band is vibrating. You finished.

Me: Ya think I could eat dinner without you?

Inner Voice: Not a chance.

Reached 60 consecutive days of making daily steps goal. Almost to where my Garmin has set me up to be at 15,000 steps per day.

BH and I went to a nearby city park after BH had lunch and set out to walk the new 5 mile bike trail they are putting in. Didn't get far when a root jumped up and grabbed her foot, causing a crash. A couple of scrapes on her hand and a sore knee is all she suffered. Unfortunately, the camera didn't fair as well, broke the zoom lens right off the body.

upped my resistance on bike and did a 6 miles. only a 21:46 but it felt really good. maybe i need the extra pressure on my legs. didn't try to kill it, legs felt great. dreading cell extraction practice this friday - it has taken three years to make my knees work right again, the bicycle has played a major part in that. cell extraction uses pressure points in the legs that can really screw them up for months. so...i guess i declare my legs off limits.

Good grief! What a day! :vs_smirk:

Normally I'm not a big fan of gyms. I would much rather get outdoors for exercise. Every now and then though, I run out of daylight so I finish up my steps on the treadmill. (Which was the case tonight.)

Ugggg, after a rough day at work I still need 3000 steps to make my daily goal and its really probably past what my bedtime should be, having to get up at 3:30 AM, but I'm too close not to make my goal.

Getting 10,000+ steps in by walking in the outdoors (especially in nature) is a breeze. You literally feel the stress melting away and find yourself smiling. Getting your 10,000+ steps completed in the gym (which is where I was tonight) feels like it takes 12,893 hours so ya gotta crank up the tunes and pretend you're anywhere else but there....
