More importantly, what made you decide to stay?
I had just rec'd word from my doctor's office that my BG was "elevated." I didn't know what that meant, so I Googled "diabetic forum," and I clicked on this one .

I stayed because everyone is informative and supportive .

I googled "diabetes support forums" after I was hospitalized and found this one along with a couple of others. I participate in all of them because I have found that not all people frequent the same forum and I figure we need all the support we can get.

I followed the link from BloodSugar101, Jenny Ruhl's website. She has a list of recommended support groups and this was the one I liked best.

GOOGLE! What did we do before internet. Guess we actually asked our doctors. But anyways, my doctor didn't answer all my questions, and I'm sure I didn't ask him all I should have, so I sought answers from the real experts. And considering it costs me $120 US every time I visit my doctor, I may ask you a lot of questions.

I love forums, so when I was first diagnosed, I googled Diabetes forum and this one came up. I was active in the beginning, but then relocated and lost touched, but now I'm back!

I used to be on the UK Diabetes forums but I was censored for using the expression "Oh My God" as it related to how time tends to slow down on a Friday Afternoon. I don't know if it was a moderator or just an automatic script that searches on Key words but the word "God" was changed to a bunch of random characters and reason for the censor was "blasphemy".
This obviously bothered me more than I thought because I stopped going to the UK forums as a result. I had enough things to worry about (like having diabetes) instead of worrying whether the innocent use of an expression was blasphemy or not. Maybe it's one of those British Cultural things. It was strange.
I like this board much better. The users tend to be more open minded in regard to ways of managing diabetes.
I hope I don't get censored for using the word God here too - it's not like I say the word much :-)

rs, other posters here use the word, too. My experience on this site is that it would be the content around the word that might get a poster nicked.
