Smile First Doctor's Appointment...

Today I am finally on Medicare after being without insurance for the pass year. I went in to see my Doc and he was impressed with my BG level 111 fasting, my blood pressure 124/78 my A1c 6.9 with 40ml of ketones in my urine, my weight down 30 pounds in the last twelve weeks since I have been tracking.

I gave him my Blood Gluscose Report and Journal for the past month which Contour Next One kicks out. We discussed politics, diet and activity(exercise).

He gave me two movies on Netflix to watch for homework;
"What the Health" and "Forks over Knives" I am almost done watching the first one. He is on board with my HFLC lifestyle and is looking forward to when I can come off medication.

Today was an awesome day.

Smile Thanks

@hftmrock
Thanks so much for the encouragement. Although this journey has its ups and downs, successes and disappointments, it is great to have folks to share with. The consistency of this fellowship is good for the soul.

Congrats on getting health insurance again. I really need to start getting serious about being prepared to get on Medicare. I'm only a couple of years away.

And even more so, congrats on your BG and other healthy improvements. I would think your doctor was a wacko if he wasn't impressed, it impresses me. You have made great strides.

As far as the homework, it seems that must be going around doctor's offices like statin prescriptions and the latest flu outbreak. The PA my wife sees brought home a note with those same two movies wrote on it. She said the PA said that we should watch them. I told her if she asked if we watched, tell her I said I'm not into science fiction movies.

Thanks for the encouragement @mbuster,
your comment had me rolling with laughter as I did not agree with much of the science presented and it seemed like an additional piece of propaganda to push the vegan agenda. Calling it science fiction seems quite appropriate.
