Default They asked, so I told 'em

Woke up this morning to an email from a survey company with the subject 'Diabetes Australia survey'. Goody, I thought.

The survey was about the services provided by NDSS, an Australian government service for diabetics administered by Diabetes Australia. They provide the diabetes educators, nutritionists, classes etc. as well as testing and insulin consumables at subsidised prices.

As usual, the questions were check the box for the most part, but at the end, there was the option to comment further. So I did. Here is part of my comment:
Also, the reason I don't participate in Diabetes Australia/NDSS initiatives is that their dietary guidelines are incompatible with good blood sugar control. I researched on the internet and have found very good support groups there that have enabled me to gain and maintain excellent control over my disease.
That'll learn them to ask...

(BTW, I do appreciate the subsidised consumables service, and said so in the survey, although I did mention that 900 strips a year were insufficient for people who were meticulous about maintaining control over blood sugar levels.)

Wish they would send me one so I could reiterate what you told them, the more they hear from diabetics what is really working for them the better, though I suspect won't make any difference anyway.

You should get one if you haven't already. Here is what the e-mail said in part:
You have been contacted as you have previously registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). Your opinion is valuable and your participation would be greatly appreciated. The results will be used to ensure that NDSS services are aligned to your expectations and needs.
Then another paragraph says this:
This study will close at midnight on Sun 23 April 2012. We will send a reminder to those who have not completed the survey beforehand. (Note: do not delete this email as it contains the link required to return to the survey at any stage. For your convenience, you are able to stop anywhere throughout the survey and complete it at a later time).
If you don't get one in the next few days, contact them on the email address I'll send you as a PM. The more of us who provide this sort of feedback the better, IMNSHO.
