Yes. I usually log in around 11:30 PST

Is it consistent?
Very.

Also, what device/browser are you using?
Dell Optiplex PC Desktop Windows 7 Pro; Firefox ver. 46.0.1 using AdBlocker Ultimate.

Does this appear across the whole site or just on certain pages?
All I'm tracking is the initial loading of the site. I clear cookies every night so I get a reload each day. I do not clear my active logins so I'm already logged in when I click this bookmark.

EDIT: Clicking through the site to New Posts I find the site takes about 40 seconds of more cookie loading as well as data transfers. The user interface loads the screen...but I can see in the lower left of my screen things still loading onto my computer.

http://www.diabetesforum.com/forum.php

Does this persist if you try on another device and/or browser?
I get the same cookies with Chrome Version 63.0.3239.132 (32-bit) as I do with Firefox. I don't use IE or any other device.

As an addendum here; Not sure what your comment character-count limit is...but I've spent the last 45 minutes with CCleaner rounding up the list of cookies this site loads. Load time is 80 seconds, which includes data transfers. This is with a current download bandwidth speed test of 83.04 Mbps from New York to California. Here's the list. If the list is too long I'll try and add an attached .txt file of the list.

I'm assuming that this list is an added-to list being so long. In other words...maybe no one has ever checked to see if any of your cookie sources on this list are still active paying-clients.

I haven't had any problems loading this site so far but then again I am new here. My computer is set to automatically delete cookies and I also clear out prefetch nightly. My security system clears out everything at night as well.

Regarding Devices: I have an Alcatel One Touch phone powered by Android that I turn on at night in case I get email. Last night I got a notification that Patches had posted to this thread. I clicked on the link and in the process of trying to scroll to that comment my mobile Chrome browser crashed...twice. It's never done that on any other site.

@ForumAdmin ...

Any progress on this. 217 cookies loaded this morning. So much data loaded at one time it turns on my CPU fan.

That's an awful lot of cookies... I just checked my cookie settings (I use chrome, go here for instructions on how to check your cookies: https://kb.iu.edu/d/ajfi) and I only have a total of 19 from navigating this site. One showed 11 and the other showed 8, here's the 11:

It sounds like the problem is on your end - could do a malware check on your computer? Run CCleaner too. Let us know how that goes!

Thanks,
Nate

@ForumAdmin

I've changed my FF cookie settings from Accept Third Party Cookies: Always...to Accept Third Party Cookies: Never.

I'm now down to a 3% load of cookies and a 65% less load time at login. Not sure how that'll effect other sites...but we'll take this a step at a time. I remember one site, awhile back, that wouldn't let me on unless I accepted all cookies. I think that's when I changed my cookie settings.

Thanks for your input on this.

Good to see that!

FWIW I keep two browsers open. Firefox is buttoned down pretty tight; Safari is pretty much as-installed. That's in case I run across a site where maybe I just to look at something quickly and don't want to undo the restrictions I've built into Firefox. On this site I've granted permissions to diabetesforum.com, verticalscope.com, and googleapis.com. No problems doing anything here with that set of permissions.

Seems to be a little better for me today. Although I do get lags like right now, I'm typing and I don't see my letters -there they are ... Google Chrome keeps popping up a warning window "Page Unresponsive - wait or leave page.

I get the sense there is a lot processing going on.

There is. Your message on my screen...I click Quote to reply to you and there's 58 seconds of processing going on while this screen loads; a lot of data loading and cookie checking.
