I dont think its possible to eat 0 carbs

I eat about 30g of carbs per day. Green leafy vegetables, almonds, heavy whipping cream, macadamia nuts, maybe a piece of a tomato... thats about all I can think of that has carbs for me. sometimes I will have a mug cake with a few carbs too

Thanks hftmrock. Do the 30G impact your BG that much? What do you use to calculate the amount of carbs you do it? Cronometer?

I eat 20g of carbs (net) per day because I live a KETO lifestyle.

Most of my carbs come from leafy greens, avocados, some nuts, and heavy cream.

Thanks Cricket! How do you calculate?

does not affect my BG at all. I am in ketosis and my BG is between 75 and 90 . Most of the time I just google the name of the item and the word carbs so for example I type string beans carbs and it will tell me. (If there is no label on the packaging)

Ok, thanks to both of you for your replies. Have a great day--

when i was first diagnosed with type 2. I used metformin 2x500mg. and managed my diet the best i knew how.

i used used to test at 5.8 before a meal, and if I went looking for the spike instead of waiting 2 hrs, I'd see a spike of an additional .8 to 1.5

I found that I could handle about 30 grams of carbs with about 10 grams sugar at any meal and my blood would test well.

If I had about 2 days of good meals, I could go to mcdonalds for 1 meal and not see my bg move.

things seemed good. but i was still binging and over eating. my cravings were out of control at times. i'd diet and lose weight, then put it right back on again.

jump for 10 years, to the present. another 10 years of abusing my body and my insulin resistance is out of control. I'm taking 2x1000mg Janumet, and insulin.
Low carb is definitely the solution. I can think of no better way to treat my body that do the exact opposite to what gote here in the first place. The carbs have to go.

The 10 years has cost me. Even with my low carb diet, I'm seeing number more often in the 8-12 range. instead of 5.8 -6.8 range.

I know I've found the key to living healthier with diabetes, I just wish that I could have found it 10 year ago. I pray someone reads this someday and saves themselves 10 years.

HI Overdrive. I eat as few carbs as I can, because you can't eat zero, there is a little in everything, even meat (stored as muscle glycogen). I try to stay at 30 grams per day or less, but I don't intentionally try to eat anything for the carbs in it. IF I did, my BG would be elevated over levels that are known to cause organ damage.
