Marty, what a class A A$$! Professionals like that are simply in it for the money. That is terrible. Besides, what's he going to do give her ANOTHER drug? Unbelievable.

As a Medical Biller and Office Manager for a Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, if someone were to call with more than a 24 hour notice of cancellation, and stated that money problems were low...I would definitely do a courtesy no charge for that service. What an idiot! That just really burns my biscuits when there are docs out there like this. Also, did he have your written permission to just charge your credit card for cancelled appointments? Did you sign an authorization giving him permission at some point? He cannot just charge your credit card without your permission without it in writing in your file. That is a fraudulent charge then. Wow. What A Jerk!

I'd sure contest it, MCS. That's so radically unfair given the circumstances!

I love the cursing going on here.

Some bridges are too dangerous to cross and need to be dismantled or burned to the ground.

If there's anybody over this guy's head, I'd sure be contacting them! We've had issues like this with psychiatrists too . . . what worked better for us was having a psychologist working in tandem with our PCP in case prescriptions are necessary.

He is in private practice, doesn't even have a secretary to fuss at. Thats a wonderful idea about the psyc, then having family doc write the scripts. He was useless, live and learn. What makes it so ugly is I had several conversations with him before we even had the first appt and he assured us he could help her.

I got an appt with our family doc this Monday. Just emailed him all of the information about what she has been going thru, hoping he can help. Oh and by the way she is getting another round of Biopuncture in her knees. The last shots she did was well over a year ago and she has been pain free since then. I think the lack of sleep and stress always finds your weakest body part to inflict pain on.

Went to family doc this morning. He said to cut back on the Glutamine and take 3-6grams of Glycine, along with 100mg progesterone caps. He also wrote a script for a different type of sleeping pill if that didn't help.

Problem is when I went to fill the other sleeping pill this morning the pharmacy called and said her PDOC put a note in her file at the pharmacy to not fill anything in those lines with out his approval. Didn't know doctors had that kind of authority. The pharmacy is trying to contact our family doc for his approval. I sent an email to him as well saying we were done with the other doc. The hurdles one has to go thru to get a good nights sleep is alarming. Her PDOC is trying to set up a scenario where we are completely dependent on him.

Outrageous! I guess I can think of reasons for it, if a patient is using several pharmacies & several docs to abuse drugs, but this is far overreaching for this psychiatrist - these guys really do have a god complex.

I think they do get a GOD complex. I understand trying to keep people from abusing drugs from different docs and pharmacies. I have been as honest as one can be with him and what she has been taking. If she had to take more than prescribed to get her a couple hours of sleep I told him so. Looking back he has not been much of any help in my mind, in fact I think he set her back 2-3 weeks with his pysc medicines. The family doc just called, said he would tell the pharmcy we are no longer seeing the PDOC. Not sure how she is going to take that, but doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is truly insane.
