hi all, sorry i was gone for so long, it is a typical thing for me to spend less time idle during the summer.

whats up everyone?

lets see, here's whats up with me:

- my fbg is trending at 6.6 while eating keto. which is down from 7.6ish in may and june. not bad for a guy that could NOT get below 7.6 on a 13day fast last january

- its been 6 months since my pulmonary embolism. the doctor says i'm low risk so long as i stay on warfarin. he wants me on warfarin for life. says if i show up in 2 years looking like a marathon runner he would still want me on warfarin for life. my PE was large and remains unexplained. ie no injury or surgery to explain the blood clot. I agree with his recommendation, I fit the profile. however, should i end up a marathon runner, I might question the 'drugs for life' approach.

- going to be selling my 37 year old Honda Goldwing. going to redirect my energy towards other equally fun and less dangerous hobbies.

- just finished reshingling my roof. I thought I was in for a challenge, I WAS!LOL...hot weather, worn out body, on keto...all things considered, I felt better than I might have felt had I done the job in the past 5 years.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Good to see you back among us, NSDad! It sounds like the time away hasn't hurt (well, maybe the roof did after a couple of days of it; that's hard work!).

I'm just keepin' on keepin' on, watching the summer flash by without getting to many of the things I wanted to. Too many days too hot to ride my bike and I'm still having some (carpal tunnel?) issues riding as long as I'd like when it's cooler. My numbers are good; next A1c is October.

Is the blog new? Don't remember the link before...

yes, started the blog in june haven't really done much to it. about the only thing of value on it is a "keto calculator plug-in" that I have installed. It will give you your daily macros in grams.

Everyone is welcomed to use it without having to give up your email address.( I turned that feature off)

Glad to see you back, glad to hear you've been OK while you were away. Was afraid you might have had a lung collapse or worse. Well what could be worse than shingling a roof in June or July, pouring concrete, I guess?

If it makes you feel better, I gained 4-5 pounds while you were away and I am blaming it on your absence. Looking forward to getting it back off plus about 10 more lbs.

Don't sell your motorcycle! It's a fun thing, a psychotherapist, and great on fuel. Just my opinion I own a Harley, my 3rd, and will keep riding till i can't do it anymore! Nice to meet you!
