I expect that eating too lean... meat and other foods ... is a common mistake for anyone going from the low-fat world to eating reduced carbs. It takes a while to get over the "fat is bad" idea that has been drummed into one from the cradle.

When one lowers carbs, and doesn't increase fats, all that's left is lean meat or other low-fat proteins. This is not even a very satisfying way to eat and probably is one of the main factors in the decision to quit low-carb or keto.

Thank you. That is some good reading.
When I reflect on it, a can of tuna has about 32g of protein, I'm guessing that a serving of red meat about the same size would meet my protein requirements for that meal.

Although, there would most certainly be some people that can't handle a tuna can portion of red meat, I'm not covinced that it would be universally considered too much uric acid for everyone.
