Default Gout Update

Hi all,
I am sure many of you have read a couple of my post regarding a problem I am having with Gout Attacks. They started in March of this year and have occurred every 10-15 days since.

I finally have been able to get what we think is an answer as to why I have these and how to stop or limit them and indirectly they are related to my success with the LCHF life!

Since 2015 I have lost 70 lbs. thanks to follow LCHF lifestyle. Accordingly, over those years many of my medications had to be changed (reduced or stopped) do to my loss of weight.

But the Diuretic (water pill) I have been taking was never changed! Come to find out, as I lost weight my kidneys were passing water so fast that they became inefficient at filtering. Additionally, this caused my blood volume to be concentrated which also contributed to the ongoing build up of Uric Acid Crystals in some of my joints. I am off of all diuretics now and expect to see a reduction in the frequency of Gout attacks. It could actually eliminate the attacks all together...wouldn't that be something!

My doctor, admittedly, should have thought of this sooner, but I am hoping this is part of the answer. I share this in hopes that if any of you have gout or get gout, be sure to question all the meds you are taking...with your doctor....

Wish me Luck...Merry Christmas!
