I get my yearly flu shot but when I come down with a cold I don't do anything - I just ride it out and test more often as my BGs tend to become somewhat unpredictable.

I keep Elderberry on hand and take at the first sign. Sometimes I don't get it soon enough. So the cold will linger but hasn't ever turned into anything worse.....knock on wood.

Does taking high doses of Vitamin C raise your glucose?

I haven't tested that. With an illness comes higher BG, so it might be difficult to tell. I might test that sometimes when I'm not sick.

I don't think I was sick when I took the dose and tested. It was probably 2000 mgs. The same goes for me with fish oil. anything over 3 grams of fish oil shot my glucose up. So I limit it to 2 grams. I was trying to take the fish oil to combat an injury I had.....shoulder.
