Most Canadians I know actually live farther south than we do...

Winter in Minnesota is severe sometimes and honestly only 5 months of winter would be great!

We're currently on month 5 and have 2 more to go! lol!

I remember canoeing in Northern Minnesota as a kid - if I remember correctly it was pretty cool as we canoed across the Ontario/Minnesota border - no border patrol or border guards just a lot of rocks, trees and water.

Then when I was a news reporter I worked with a women from Minnesota and that's when I discovered that the people of Minnesota and Ontario even sound the same.

But as fate would have it I moved to the east coast and haven't been back.

Yes, people say we sound very much alike! I don't hear it but I am sure it's true.

The east coast is one place I'd love to visit (more) but travel is hard to manage for me as I own and operate a child care business so taking more than a day or two here and there is difficult

I'd love to visit your area! If I ever won the lottery I'd embark on an endless road trip to everywhere!

Today is below freezing with drizzle/snow. Won't amount to much, but it's keeping the other snow on the ground. Winter's definitely not over yet. Uggh

It's funny because the main reason why I moved to Prince Edward Island (back in 1987) - was because it was one of the few places where I could afford a nice piece of property - so for 50K Canadian we bought a 4 bedroom old farmhouse on 1/2 acre of land overlooking an estuary (tidal river). It was the best decision we ever made but you tend to feel somewhat isolated in the winter during adverse weather conditions that will shut down the bridge to the mainland and close the airport.

One other thing - the Prince Edward Island Government also have significant subsidies on diabetes supplies - whether you have health insurance or not. As you know not having to pay out of pocket for your diabetes supplies makes a big difference.
