Grains are verboten on low-carb/high-fat plans, mainly because they're the worst offenders in raising blood sugar, since they're basically pure carbohydrate. And the spike may not even be the worst part - the fact is that carbs are addictive and cause cravings for MORE carbs. Most of us live without corn, wheat, rice, oats, barley, or any other cereal grains, and any products made with these grains. It's just easier to not eat them, than trying to deal with the fallout.

Definitely you need to start with a low dose of Met and work your way up. The more carbs you eat, the worse gas you will get. Good luck!
