FreeStyle® InsuLinx Glucose Meter Recall

Abbott will shortly announce a recall of their new FreeStyle® InsuLinx glucose meter. The reason for the recall is similar to what made LifeScan recall their new OneTouch® Verio®IQ which had issues with ultra-high glucose measurements. The Abbott recall will impact around 500,000 units.

When are they going to recall my OmniPod?

When it gets very high BG it says "ERROR 2"

Very low BG and it says "ERROR 1"

Get in touch with them as something must be wrong with it and if it happens to enough people them they call a recall but they should send you a new meter straight away as they should not state error without a reason

I would just call insulet. They may go ahead and transition you to the new pods and pdm if you haven't already. If you have transitioned you they will next day you a new pdm. I've had one go bad.
