Default Diabetes T2 and Tattoo

so much for being a normal person.. i have always wanted a tattoo, something meaningful that would remind me of my struggles in life, something to remind me that i have to keep fighting. I have been battling clinical depression and General anxiety disorder for 5 years now and am still fighting. I want a tattoo, but am diabetic T2, is there anyway I can be eligible for a tattoo? also i want to do it on my finger.

Having diabetes doesn't mean you can't have tattoos; diabetics stick needles in themselves all the time. What's important is avoiding any infection. On the whole, diabetes can lower the immune system in some diabetics...so be sure your tattooist is a professional and subscribes to all the health and safety rules.

As an addendum...since this is your first tattoo...let me give you a heads-up. The thinner the skin is on the area you're going to have tattooed...the stronger your pain resistance will need to be. Second, if it's going to be on your finger...be very aware of keeping your hand clean as the tattoo heals. If you're going to be around water, wear a latex glove for the first few days. Last...don't pick at any scabs...they'll take the ink with them.

Good luck...

What Bounty said^^^^^. I have a tattoo I got in 2006 when I had T2 but thought I was in good control. No problems. Hadn't heard about Eat-to-the-meter and was still following doctors' orders. I would just add to be sure to keep your blood sugars in the safe range so you are not inhibiting healing and keep it scrupulously clean and lubricated (whatever ointment or cream your tattooist recommends.)
You are normal. We just have pancreases that are a bit dysfunctional.

I have 6 Tattoos. You'll have no problem because of your T2. The only problem you'll have is how addicting they are.
