Default burning feet problem ..please help

Hi good people out there ...

i was dx type 2, 3 months ago.i am taking metformin 500mg, acarbose 25 mg and glidazide 80 mg twice a day. my a1c is 6.3(checked last week).

my problem is burning sensation in my feet.because of that i can't sleep at night and can't even go to work.i checked my vit b12 and it is ok. after that my doc gave me pregalin 75 mg a day.after using prgalin for 2 day ,my burning sensation has gone a little but not completly and i still can't sleep well. i am scared if this problem might lead to some kind of very bad result.

is there anybody who had same problem and fixed it for forever ?

Thanks in advance,
29 years old male..

Yes. Had decompression neroplasty on leg. The pain is often compressed or collapsed nerves further up the leg below the knee

I have insulin dependent diabetes for 22 years. A1C started at 12 then down to 6.8 or so last 5 years. Peripheral Neuropathy is my only complication. The best is keep A1c between 6.5 and 6.8. And I do, but this still happened. The "cure" is a surgical procedure one limb at a time called decompression neuroplastity. Its very new, been out of trial less than 6 months in US.

A1C in the 6.5-6.8 range would be considered too high if one is trying to avoid complications. 6.8 represents an approximate average of 148 bg - and damage is being done in the body over 140 and some believe at lower levels than that. You might want to read at Blood Sugar 101 and click on 'Healthy Blood Sugar Targets' and read some other parts of the site also. It's extremely informative, and all the info is backed by studies.

A good goal is to get one's A1C in the <6 range.

I am having the same problem. But the burning sensation is mild . I am trying l-arginine. Apparently one of our members has tried it and have some feed back to share. Check out a thread in this forum.
