Gotta find some way to stay up till midnight (or at least 11; we can wimp out then by saying it's midnight in New York City and the ball has dropped, so we can call it good).

Study by researchers at the Diabetes Clinic of Calcutta Medical College that found that fasting glucose levels tended higher during full moons and new moons:

Obviously a corroborating study (or three) is needed. But it's an interesting finding nonetheless. And a new way to blame those wacko readings from your meter some morning.

Full moon last night, I had a lower fasting this morning. I either don't play by the rules, or a good bike ride is stronger than a full moon. LOL

If I'm recalling the study details correctly, no bike rides were mentioned. I suspect they did not want participants to provide too many variables to the study.

They should have tested some 'not type 2's' as well to make the claim that it affects type 2 diabetics. The title implies to me it may not affect Type 1s or non-diabetics. Maybe that should be included in future studies. Would be interesting to know.
