92% of the calories from fat, 4 grams carbs -2.6 grams fiber. Looks good to me. Some of the cooks here may have some helpful hints with the type of syrup to use and maybe improve the crust.

I found that recipe long ago and haven't got around to trying it yet. If you do give it a try, please let us know how it turns out.

What worries do you have about the sugar free maple syrup? And do you have a certain brand of syrup in mind?

Here's a link to a really great pecan pie recipe. I've made it many times and it's always a hit.

Most grocery-store brands have malitol in them. I wouldn't want to put a cup of that in my pie, either. However, I should think that DaVinci pancake syrup, which is sweetened with Splenda, would work just fine.

Another alternative is Walden Farms pancake syrup. You can get DaVinci and Walden Farms at Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore!

The carbs mostly in some of the sugar free maple syrups, though I have seen some that only have like 5 carbs, and no, no brand in mind at the moment.
