Default tooo tally new here!! looking to find info on low carb

Hi all!

Brand new to this whole thing. Recently (2 months) diag. as "pre" on metformin 500 ER 1x, diet, exercise. Dr. feels I shall be able to go off it soon and keep it in check or to reverse with only diet and exercise. Hope so.

I am a new "convert" to the low carb way of life. Yikes. A minefield. I bought the Drs. Eades Comfort Food Cookbook, a Dana Carpender book, and researched. I'm going into this whole hog.

Anyone have suggestions or opinions on the books I bought, pro or con? My dr. is one that believes in as little starch as possible, which for a chiabetta lovin', wine lovin' lady has been a tough transition. Worth it, tho.

Hi to all!! I am so glad to have found you!

I trust both Dr. Eades and Dana Carpender. I also left you some links on your other thread.

You may find that dry red wines are beneficial on our low-carb way-of-eating, but the ciabatta bread will prob'ly have to go if it spikes you over 140mg/dl.

Hey, thank you, very much!! (was kind of joking on the chiabatta bread) but I found out I can make a nice substitute by using the Drs. Eades book! Yay! (in moderation, of course)

I turn to the internet for recipes. There are tons of low-carb recipes out there. But I usually look here on this forum first.
