Default Awesome Pizza (very low carb)

I found an excellent pizza recipe, it's very low carb. I made my version of a supreme with sausage, onion, green pepper, and mushroom. **I did not use as much Italian seasoning as called for in the crust, I just sprinkled a small amount in batter. I also used a small can of tomato sauce as my sauce, adding a bit of garlic powder and basil to taste. It's a keeper!!!

Look for walden farms pasta sauce to replace the tomato sauce. You can drop carbs further that way...or just make a "white" pizza

Some other tomato sauce replacement ideas:

olive oil w/ sea salt
parmesan and prosciutto
sun dried tomatoes and pepperoni
bacon and bbq sauce

mmm time to make some pizza!

We made this base last night and then topped it this morning with all the usual pizza ingredients. Had it for lunch and it was excellent. The before and the 2 hours after BG readings were both the same. I guess I should have checked at the 1 hour mark but I didn't get a chance. Will certainly be having this again.

Regarding the sauce, we've been able to find sauces on the shelf at the grocery store with no added sugar; just need to look. Don't see the need for sweet sauces anyway. Will definitely try this crust. We've used portabella caps as bases, per the Atkins app. No need to put mushrooms on top.
