FWIW, most drug stores carry the husks/hulls because it's used for constipation...so much easier than finding a health food store.

Ah, never thought to check at the drug store! I have about 3 drug stores right around the corner from the hacienda! Will check there today after work.

And Muck, I obviously do know what I'm missing because you are all killing me here with the positive comments! hahahahaha

Gonna make these come hell or high water this week!

But try to get the whole husks, not ground up as in metamucil.

I made my 2nt batch yesterday. They turned out better than the first. They were not burned and they did not stick (as bad) to the paper .

I am still having a time finding a good source of sesame seeds. The problem is getting them to Georgia. The shipping fee is way more than the seeds. I may try to add them in an order from Amazon. I can't find them at Netrition. $12.00 a lb. at local health food store. Any ideas on where to buy them. (cheap)

bugglikes to save money

I'm going to make a trip to Sam's Club in Savannah b/4 Christmas, maybe they will have sesame seed...

I'm now making my second attempt with these crackers...this time using the correct Psyllium husks rather than seeds. I am going to make them thicker a la Wasa bread (knäckebröd) as we prefer to load them up with stuff and the crackers tend to be too fragile. Tomorrow will be of the cracker variety but with a twist (which I haven't decided upon yet). My wife and mother-in-law both liked the first batch which was far from perfect but, at the same time, perfectly edible.

Bugg I found that the amount of sesame seeds was a bit too much for me so I am going to cut back to just half the amount in my next batch, just thought I'd mention as you might notneed to use quite as much as recipe states

if you cant get sesame seeds you can grind up some sunflower seeds...Ive used all sorts like pecans and walnuts and brazil nuts all ground roughly...I think so long as there is a bit of psyllium to hold it together and you get a dough like consistency them seem to work..
