Default Recipe for a healthy weekend in the Pacific Northwest

1 Sunshine helps your mood and vitamin D levels, so get out in the sun. Better yet, get out on the water to get reflected and direct sun simultaneously.

2 Kick back, listen to some tunes, and enjoy nature. All great for the mood and overall health.

3 Relaxing is great, but for cardiovascular health one needs to raise the heart rate once in a while. I recommend hooking one of these low carb high omega 3 beauties to get the heart pumping. (see IMG_0639.jpg)

4 Fillet; then marinade the filets in olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped garlic for several hours; then place on a pellet grill (northwest alder pellets of course) and smoke for one hour. Raise to 225 F until just opaque. (The law of small numbers works well here as well. Low temperature allows a greater window between done and overdone.)

5 Enjoy with a northwest pinot noir (healthy in moderation of course) and sautéed vegetables from the garden. Finish off with Stevenal’s chocolate ice cream, http://www.diabetesforum.com/diabetes-recipes/61017-chocolate-ice-cream-scream.html .(chocolate is sometimes called a superfood for all its health benefits)

6 The next morning, scramble up some leftovers with butter, onion, mushrooms, eggs, cream cheese, and black pepper. Enjoy with coffee and cream.

7 Now prepare the caviar. No point in repeating the recipe, since it is easily found on Foodnetwork.com, but next time I think I’ll try avocado instead of olive oil for a lighter touch. (see IMG_0259.jpg)

Bon Appetit.
