Default Diabetic Retinopathy

Kind of depressed. It has been a week now and my vision is still blurry from one eye. Can't see from one eye. Following doctor's indications and a lot of patience.

having good control can help with preventing it from getting worse and may improve your retinopathy.

I am not a doctor this is what works for me

Have you been eating low carb? Are you eating to your meter? Keeping your bg below 140 mg/dl (7.8 mmol/L) at all times should help you avoid complications like retinopathy.

After my heart surgery I had a bleed in my left eye, saw red for almost 2 weeks, I blamed it on the meds. All better now.

Control is with Diet modification, exercise, supps.

Hi Lupita
As I was bringing my blood sugars down from the original very high BG reading, I dropped it about 200 points in 2 weeks and around the 3rd and 4th week was feeling light-headed, dizzy, and definitely experienced blurred vision, esp in my right eye. It was noticeable - I had a hard time reading small print and the print on the TV that normally is not a problem for me. Once I stabilized at the lower levels, my light-headedness, dizzyness, and blurred vision all cleared up.
I still have a ways to go to get my BG even lower.
I would say if you continue to have issues with your vision, if it does not clear up in a couple of weeks, then go see an eye doctor. I do hope you are trying to lower your BG.
Good luck!

ETA - read your OP again and see you have been seeing a doctor about this. Take care!

When I was DX my eye doc told me to wait at least three months before being concerned with my vision issues. My BG was over 1500 at the time. Two months later and my vision was back to normal. Please be patient but at the same time be aware.
