Default Crashing After Eating - What is this? Is This a Sign?

Everything feels heavy for a while, like it's hard to move my arms etc. Have a difficulty concentrating too I think.

Can these be signs of diabetes or is it something else? It's been bothering me for a while and I'm not sure what it is...

I guess this is something to worry about.

I've read up on hyper/hypoglycemia, and I'm not sure if it's those. I'm not dehydrated or thirsty all the time, I don't pee a lot (unless I've been drinking a lot of water, as it's a good habit to do.)

I'm not hungry all the time either, though occasionally I do think I get hungry when I really don't believe I should. (Right now as of this posting I am not hungry at all.)

Would anyone here know?

Hi Skie,

to know if you are a diabetic, you should see a doctor and have some blood work done.

Whenever my sugar levels are too high (mainly after high carb meals), I feel like crap: tired, low energy, couch potato.
You will not likely experience a low (hypoglycaemia) if you have untreated diabetes. You are more likely to have high blood sugar levels, leaving you thirsty, going to the bathroom all the time, but you would also lack energy and be tired. You would loose weight without any other reason than a lack of insulin.

Good luck! Have a check up at your GP!

I crash too after eating a high carb meal. I'm not yet diabetic, but I'm pre-diabetic or have what is known as Metabolic Syndrome. After a high carb meal, your sugar spikes, then your body produces a lot of insulin to counteract it. This makes your sugar drop dramatically leaving you feeling like crap. When it happens to me, I can't keep my eyes open and I need a nap.
My suggestion would be to try a low carb diet and see how you feel. Stay away from sugar, breads, pasta and starchy vegetables, for a while and see how you feel.
I wish you much luck!

I would know how you feel as I can distinctly remember the weakness and the lack of energy that you have. Sleep is so attractive and drink till the jug is dry. yes a whole jug!!! Food is quite obvious as you would lick the plate clean!
See a doctor and ask for a diabetes tests. Have you lost weight??
